The Mini Cooper S, three time winner of the Monte Carlo Rallye as a Police Car? Sounds absurd on the face of it I know, but they did exist, and my website has been developed to reveal the history from build date to today, of one of the cars in the line at the top of this page, OKD 698F. With pages dedicated to specifications, radios, and the various bits that make these cars super rare, I hope you enjoy it.
We'll meet the BBC for some filming around Brands Hatch, pop in to Goodwood for Breakfast, appear on a 50th Birthday Royal Mail Stamp Sheet, and represent the year 1968 on the World Famous London to Brighton Mini Run, where we become the holder of a World Record! We'll be winning our first prize at the Biggin Hill International Air Fair, and we're one of the 2 Police Cars that flank the late Steve Smiths Downton 1071 Cooper S, named 'Best Mini In The World', at the Beaulieu Mini Cooper Register Day. In August we're going back home to Longbridge on the Heritage Run from the Motor Heritage Centre at Gaydon, chase the Mercedes Silver Arrows Display Team down the runway at the home of TOP GEAR, in Dunsfold, and we're rounding off the year with the most memorable invitation we've had so far - to the world famous Goodwood Revival. Along the way, we'll find out where the rest of the original line-up has got to if we can, with help from some current owners.
